image The West Kelowna 18U AAA Dbacks are in Mesa Arizona for a 5 day camp and games against other BC Baseball teams, including Kamloops, Ridge Meadows, West Kelowna and a Team Big League Experience team which is made up of current and former BLE camp attendees

as well as pick up players from BC and Alberta. Marty Lehn, owner of BLE and currrent scout
for Philedelpia Phillie organized the Mesa area fields , cages and accomodations as well as put together a first class line up of instructors which include the likes of Lehn himself , Bob Didier, 5 time World Series champion with the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees, as well as Albie Lopez, 11 year MLB pitcher and World Series Champion with the Arizona Dbacks. as well as those elite coaches Lehn has brought in Kyle Dhanni , former MLB Brewers player that Lehn drafted himself when he was a Scout for the Brewers. With over 60 players on the 4 teams taking part in the camp and game, the event has special meaning to Serj Sangara, former BC Minor Baseball 18U director and Sean Wandler, 18U AAA head coach of the Kamloops Riverdogs. Sangara and Wandler had the vision of bringing 18U AAA teams and players to Arizona for the spring training type event for several years, Wth the help of Marty Lehn the group was able to put the inaugural event together. It is the goal to grow the week and tournament to 8-10 teams in the next couple years.
West Kelowna Dbacks will benefit from the early competition a well as the player instruction, Coaches Todd and Brett Loeppky and West Kelowna President and team Coach Tom Katelnikoff will also walk away with valueable knowledge from the coaches as well as insight on where Dbacks team is at this year. We expect to have a breakout year with our team 2015, as we have suffered the growing pains any new team goes through. The Dbacks are shooting for a top finish in 2015
